PROTECTION OF STATE INFORMATION BILL – Public Hearings Schedule

Now is the time to make our voice heard and take a stand against the Protection of State Information Bill.

We would like to appeal to everyone to attend the respective public hearings in their area to participate in public hearings which will be taking place across the Eastern Cape starting this Thursday, 2 February 2012 from 9am to 4pm.

Let us continue our fight for media freedom.

The DA would like to clarify the recent media reports pertaining to the approval of the latest Nelson Mandela Bay IDP which was approved by council on 28 July 2011, subject to further scrutiny as there were many discrepancies. Projects were allocated to the wrong wards and other matters in question, including the new staff organogram which has not even been discussed at committee level nor in council, are just some of the examples which require refinement.
